there is a man named jean valjean. He was imprisoned for stealing bread for his nephew and the sentenced is five years. He tried to escape many times and his imprisonment last for nineteen years. He was given a parole by Javert include with it a certification that he was imprisoned. For Jean receiving that kind of paper means your living like you are already died because in their society they condemned people like Jean Valjean for the society they are considered dangerous. His journey continues, he keep on asking for work but when they knew that he was an ex-convict they refuses him and worst they throw things on him like pebbles and attack him. One night he was found by the head rector wounded and weak they gave him shelter food and everything but after he saw the silver wares he attempted to steal them and put them on his bag he run away from the convent but along his way he was caught by the policemen. Jean lied to them that it was given to him by the rector but they did not believed instead they go back to the convent and ask the rector if what he is telling to them is true and the rector agreed with it and even more said that it was not enough and he said jean forget to bring the candle stand after that incident jean valjean realized that he can have a new life without stealing and all thing that is against Gods’ will. He had a new life being a mayor of the city and a business that makes him now one of the prominent person. He has an employee named Fantine, She has a daughter named Cosette. She was accused by her co-worker for something that she didn’t done and then lost a work. It was difficult for her because that is the only thing that could eventually help her sustain the medicine of her daughter Cosette. She goes to the place where all the things can be sell. She engaged to sell her long hair, and eventually into prostitution just to have money for medicine of cosette. She was brought to the hospital by jean and before she died she ask a favour to him to take care of her daughter Cosette because she love her so much and jean took his promise to fantine and he find cosette and adopted her as if he was the father. Years go by cosette became a young lady he met Marius while they are giving money to the beggars the first time they saw each other they became in loved. Jean still hunting by Javert, a war begun in between of the activist javert lie that he was also an activist and it was found out by a young boy but still Jean help him away from death. They met again, Javert has now a way to kill Jean but he could not do it anymore but instead killed his self to keep away from what the society would say to him. Freedom now gained by the people. Cosette and marius got married but jean leaved away from them to hide his sickness and find some acceptance from God. He died with all the goodness that he has done for the society as well as for Cosette.

the film symbolises the money because in money begins all the evil all you can do with the help of money it can kill a man. It can bring you to selfishness and other things that could hurt people. In money people can dominate certain things it manipulate the acts of people and because of that people begin to create war but in some way money can help other people who are less fortunate like Jean Valjean is doing he share all what he has to the community.

1. What does the title mean in relation to the film as a whole?
Ø as a
whole the title means that in life we encounter problems that occur in the
community due to poverty but it does not mean that you just sit there and
accept all of it but instead you find solution how you can get out of it and
improve your living as a person not just remain to be part of that community without
any improvement.

the characters, to who can you relate to?
Ø Among the
characters I relate myself to Jean because I also encountered to be criticized
by people in terms of my ability but I find solution and proved them wrong
about me that I am not what they think of and what I have now is because of my
faith in God and trust to my own ability as a unique person and the
achievements that I have now.
3. Which part of the presentation struck you the most? Why?
Ø the scene
that struck me most is when Fantine go to the place and sell her body for the benefit
of her own daughter because it is good to know that a mother would do
everything for her child no matter what is the exchange of as long as it is for
the good living of her child and it reminds us that we must always be grateful
that we have a mother would sacrifice everything just for our own sake.

is the movie’s message?
Ø The
message of the movie is we are not given a problem to have miserable life but
they are given to make us a stronger person to conquer them all for the
betterment of lives and to help and inspire people to do the same way for them
to have progress in their life not containing in a box full of miserable things
that could push you into worst.

like this in general? Why?
Ø Yes,
because it gives a lot of realizations and morals about reality that it is
existing and how we can prevent them spreading throughout the community and the
solution that we can do for us to go in a way that we should take.

agree with the main theme/purpose? Why or why not?
Ø Yes,
because it gives a good example of what is happening to our society and to
people who are in position that has all the power that they must not abuse what
they have. All those thing that is given must be used to help their community
and not use to ruin their lives instead giving them a chance to cherish also
the life that they should have like the good life that you have.

specifically did I like/dislike? Why?
Ø I
dislike the discrimination between those who are wealthy people and to those who
are poor. They must treat them equally not just centring to the people who have
the wealth and power.

there any aspects of theme which are left ambiguous at the end? Why?
Ø All the
aspects of theme were justified and it is all enough to give us morals and
wisdom about the reality in life.
9. How
does this film relate to the things that are happening in your life?
Ø It relates
to the reality that I also encounter criticism, discrimination and being compared
to others abilities but I am facing them all accepting what they say but not
trusting to what comes out to their mouth because I know myself more than they
do. Problems are my motivation that push me to aim higher and continue to
improve myself as a person and helping others by inspiring them to also
continue to fight all the problems in the end you will gain more than money can
do.
